Trial & Error
Get back up and nail it.
When we do something new, we get blinded by our lack of knowledge & experience.
It's your first time at a shooting range, you get asked to shoot, but there is an opaque screen between you and the target. You have no experience with guns, all you know is to pull the trigger, and a bullet will burst out. If you don't give it a shot just because you don't know how to shoot, you'll never learn how to do it.
You must be adventurous enough to take blind shots.
It's unlikely that you'll hit the bullseye in the first shot, but the holes you make in the screen will help you to see the target, navigate where you are, and aim at the centre.
Just know that when you work on something completely new, life gives you countless rounds. Make sure every shot you take is closer to the centre than the previous one.
Despite your best efforts, there will be external factors like air pressure, temperature, and other people shooting beside you that will come along the way, affect your aim, and distract you.
Events & people with their motivations will come in contact with your plans & affect them in various ways. A miss was perhaps just because of unfavourable conditions, and a perfect hit could be a coincidence due to favourable conditions. If you can't make it happen again, the only logical explanation for it working before is pure luck.
Never let another person hitting their mark discourage you from not being able to do it yet. If anything, it should inspire you to do better.
Also, never let your hit on the mark get to your head, regardless of whether it happens consciously or by luck. If you can't do it now, with practice, soon you'll be able to.
The answer to failure is not giving up but doing better in the next attempt.
The answer to lack of knowledge is not avoidance but the pursuit of facts.
The answer to uncertainty is not distancing but curious embrace.
