It has been Six Months!
It has been a memorable journey so far. I've enjoyed writing, sharing and expressing myself, and your feedback has been humbling.
In the earlier days, I randomly memed this saying, "Ever since I started sirajulhaq.substack.com, Nothing haunts me more than a blank page."
But after receiving your responses and feedback, the one thing that has begun to scare me more than a blank page is a page filled with things that don't provide value to my readers.
Many people have told me that my stories are relatable, but the more exciting feedback was that the methods I've shared here have also been helpful, to some degree.
My idea of life, which I shared last week, by relating it to the person's surroundings and calling it their "Room". The simple idea was that your life is what you collect and surround yourself with.
This week we'll narrow it down to the person.
A coincidence which has happened twice til now, excluding this one, is that every alternate month, I write what we'll call a "Wrap".
If you've read the one titled "Limits Cont'd." you'll see how I wrapped up my previous blogs and what I did in "So far, so good". I'll try to do something similar today.
Present:
I'm the Founder of SPADit.
I'm the Incubation Manager of Lords TBI.
I'm the MARCOM Manager at CETMatrix.
Alongside pursuing my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering at LIET.
Past:
How I secured these positions helped me under my nature of being.
SPADit is a device that will help doctors diagnose their patients' diseases. My job here is to facilitate or help doctors. Before becoming someone who would help doctors, I was just another patient.
Before becoming the Incubation Manager, I started as an Incubatee at EdVenture Park, where I learned what Incubation is and how it works. Then after graduating from the cohort, I again joined as a campus lead and relearnt it all.
Before becoming a MARCOM Manager at CETMatrix, I did a sales internship at UnSchool.
The most definitive one is my journey at Lords E-Cell. I started as a member and was soon promoted to HR Executive, followed by Documentation in charge and then to Events team lead at approximately 3-month intervals each. I then joined the core team, the executive team, and then I was made the Vice-President. I finally became interim President while HackInnova was in progress, after which I joined Lords TBI as Incubation Manager.
Future:
With a few friends, I'm working on starting a community.
In the past, I've worked as a Documentation Trainer and Senior Advisor at IKIGAI.There are also a few other plans and projects that I will start working on.
Some sooner than later.
Now, a person would think if my life is a lab and I run experiments, that makes me an investigator, but we are looking for a more generic term here. Something that could justify everything we do.
This thought came to mind when our former Director of Lords E-Cell and TBI, Dr Hafeez Basha Sir, told us about Mr Venu Kodimela, who had started writing Sir's biography and the title of this book is Chaser, which was fascinating for me.
A person is writing down your entire life, and you sum it up in just one word, "Chaser"? Amazing!
Whenever someone blows my mind, I tend to think how differently I would do what they did, which is what I did.
I started thinking about how I would summarize all of whatever I had done in one word, and as Sir had a whole life leading him to that name, I started reflecting on where I was, what I had done until that point in time and what I hoped to accomplish in the coming years.
The pattern I saw was that I start at the position that does most of the grunt work, do the grunt work, establish the merit, leverage my experience and make my way up from there.
I noticed I was going up and up and up like a "Climber".
Struggling, Tripping, Trying, Learning, Growing, going Onwards and Upwards.
So, what is your story?
What word would you summarise yourself in?
